The 250-meter-long palm-lined driveway to Castell Son Claret is already spectacular - to the right and left, the view opens onto the lush Moorish garden with almond, olive and orange trees. It smells of jasmine, bergamot, oranges and roses. The Castell is located in unspoiled natural surroundings at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains on an estate of 132 hectares. Whoever arrives here has taken many a curve beforehand. This is unavoidable if you want to spend the night far from the civilization of Palma or as far away as possible from the bed castles on the coast of Mallorca. And yet not off the beaten track.

issue 1 – in love with Switzerland

Transformed by Christine and Klaus-Michael Kühne 10 years ago into a unique luxury hotel, the 15th-century manor exerts a magic that is difficult to describe in words. During the careful remodeling, great care was taken to preserve the uniqueness of the estate with its extensive original gardens.

Rooms & Suites

The main house, its eight outbuildings and stables, as well as a water tower, were restored with great attention to detail – the result: a perfect symbiosis of tradition and modernity. The interior designers have succeeded in finding a contemporary interior design that captivates through aesthetics and purism.

The furnishings of the 43 rooms and suites (26 to 140 sqm, some with private pool) are state of the art. From the handles on the soundproof, heavy doors to the beds and furniture, lighting system and flatscreens to the floors and tiles, fittings and towels – everything is of the highest quality. The beds with headboards made of genuine leather and equipped with toppers as well as bed linen made of Egyptian cotton make sleeping a real pleasure.

Culinary

The outstanding quality continues with the culinary offer. Finally a convincing breakfast buffet! Home-baked bread in various variations, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee specialties and fine egg dishes. A must-try: the “Tramontana Eggs”. Plus well-curated sausage, cheese and ham specialties – much of it from the region. A real treat. You can’t get much better than this for the first meal of the day.

In the gourmet restaurant Sa Clastra and in the restaurant Olivera the guest is spoiled only by the finest. The exclusive Castell Bar in the estate’s former chapel offers fine wines and exquisite cocktails alongside spectacular modern art.

Relaxation & Sports

The large panoramic pool with spacious relaxation areas offers a unique view of the surrounding landscape. Its slightly salty water is extracted from the Castell’s historic well, so there is no need for added chlorine.

The “Bellesa de Claret” spa with indoor pool and Moorish hammam, tepidarium, sauna and steam bath is a luxurious wellness oasis and offers a variety of beauty and well aging treatments as well as massages. For the sporty guests there is a tennis court, bicycles (free of charge) and guided bike tours. Within a radius of 50 km there are no less than 25 golf courses.

Another highlight: the “Castell Classics” in the summer months. This year, singers from the Salzburg Festival (15.6.23), the Ukrainian soprano Olena Tokar (27.7.23) and singers from the Academy of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (10.8.23) are guests at the Castell. Location

You may feel miles away from everyday life, but this Mallorcan paradise is perfectly connected to the outside world. Castell Son Claret is located outside Cal-vià, a village in the southwest of the island, 32 km from the airport. The capital Palma de Mallorca can be reached in 30 minutes by car, and in 20 minutes you can reach one of the picturesque beaches on the azure blue sea.
