Duff to Susan: Susan, you have modelled in fashion campaigns for YSL, Fendi, Dolce&Gabbana to most recently Agent Provocateur.You are gracing covers now more than ever, your modelling career today, and from the nineties, leaves an indelible mark on the fashion world. How do you feel the industry has changed since then, and what elements of that era do you think remain timeless?
Yes, I feel immensely grateful to be working continuously and be a representative of women who model and love fashion! I feel the industry has implemented more diverse aspects to be more inclusive. I love, for instance, that the runways I walked last September, featured models of all ethnicities, body shapes, gender identities and ages. I feel so blessed that people know and are familiar with me from the nineties to today. I think that theatre has sustained such fantastic longevity because it very much evokes that of an elegant, glamorous and sophisticated fashion era! It’s amazing to see so many celebrities now rocking the exact same runway looks I used to wear.
You’ve always been a source of inspiration for me, and I’m curious how you continuously find that spark for your latest endeavours—from writing your recent best-selling novel, The Velvet Rose, to completing your first graduate-level class at Harvard?
Thank you, my love; I find inspiration in you as well! You exude artistry and mastery in songwriting—congratulations on your beautiful new solo record, Lighthouse! I’m also inspired by your confidence, intelligence, and the legendary punk rock spirit that you embody so effortlessly.

Our life together has been a remarkable journey. What do you think is the secret to our enduring bond and infinite love?
I think the secret is that we wholeheartedly connect—mentally, physically, and spiritually. We make sure to acknowledge and respect each other’s needs in both our personal lives and work. We dedicate quality time to each other, always making space for new experiences. We love learning new things and continuing our growth as a couple, whether it’s riding motorcycles, learning French, tackling The New York Times puzzles and games together, or exploring new horizons with our fun travels around the globe.
Infinity can also mean endless creativity. You’ve navigated being a supermodel to a super mom and wife. How do you balance your artistic pursuits with the demands of everyday life? Thanks, darling. I’m a creature of habit, so I try to stay consistent with my priorities and organization each day. I write a to-do list before going to sleep and tackle it the next day, or at least as much as I can. It’s a balancing act, but I always believe it’s important to put your health and family first, leading by example with hard work, and the rest will follow. Most importantly, follow your heart.
